Celebrating a Decade of Surreal Self-Portraits

I am thrilled to announce I am celebrating a decade of surreal self portraits, spanning from 2009 to the present day. This comprehensive 30-page book takes you on a journey through the years, each page capturing a moment in sequence. It all began in 2009 when I decided to delve into the world of Photoshop, transitioning from film 35 mm to digital photography. I knew that Photoshop was the future, but I wanted to go beyond the basics. I wanted to breathe life into my images, as if they were captured on a movie set in the distant future.

To achieve this, I ventured into learning Adobe After Effects, where I embarked on the fascinating process of cloning myself in various scenes. This experimentation allowed me to create captivating visuals that stretched the boundaries of reality. Additionally, I dabbled in long exposures, abandoning Photoshop and embracing the magic of capturing moments in real time. The results were mesmerizing, capturing the essence of movement and time in a single frame.

In my most recent work from 2024, I explored the use of color gels, adding an ethereal and vibrant touch to my self-portraits. This new technique injected a burst of creativity and further heightened the surreal atmosphere of the collection.

If you appreciate my art and would like to support this series, I invite you to purchase a copy of the book.
