In the early 2000s, I embarked on a transformative journey to master Photoshop, driven by a desire to translate my imaginative visions into visual narratives. I developed a personalized lesson plan, setting daily challenges that would stretch my creative boundaries and deepen my artistic practice. My objective was clear: to breathe life into scenes and stories that emerged from my imagination, often utilizing self-portraits as a conduit for expression.
Each theme I explored was met with unwavering dedication, as I committed to creating a new image within a week or less. For example, I delved into the theme of “fall,” seeking to encapsulate the sensation of descending from the sky while caught in a dreamlike state. Another week, I focused on seemingly mundane moments, such as the simple act of pouring a cup of coffee, or capturing the vibrant energy of a band on an unexpectedly snowy first day of spring.
A significant milestone in my artistic journey was the creation of my Square stickers, featuring a camera within a camera, which illustrates an infinite loop of perception. This piece marked the inception of my conceptual series, inviting viewers to engage with layered narratives and reflections.
I invite you to explore this collection of work, hoping it sparks joy and curiosity as you navigate through the stories woven into each piece.
