Graham Maola Music Portraits

I received a request to photograph Graham for an award he was given through the district called George Slick named after a former superintendent who supports the arts Graham go it at the end of the freshman year and the performance is always two years later. It could be music, visual art anything in the arts. It’s given to two students per year. The other person was a Korean young woman who plays classical piano. Each person is to provide a photograph for the program and is printed in black and white. Typically I like to shoot in color and later on in post create a black and white image. For this session, I decided to shoot in black and white because I knew that was preferred regardless. The location was about 20 minutes outside of Philadelphia within a shed surrounded by trees. It was an interesting location and Graham was a total sweetheart. He was really easy going and very photogenic I must say. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the session. Enjoy.
