Model Portfolio Session with Amelia

Last month I had the pleasure to work on a model portfolio session with Amelia.  We met through Instagram and I noticed that she was missing professional images.  She had just casual selfies and memories on her page, which is part of social.  However she had a great look to be a professional model, so I reached out to her to collaborate.  Part of my job as a photographer is to have as many creative days as possible to test out new gear and concepts to freshen up my portfolio.  These creative days allow me to display images which in turn inspire clients to hire me for different concepts.  Other times clients will request a model for their product or fashion catalog needs.

There are times I will scout talent on Instagram and other times I will request test shoot with an agency.   Test shoots are a great way for both the start up model and photographer to collaborate together in order to produce something fresh and new.   If you are just starting out and would like to give modeling a shot, feel free to reach out to me here.

In the meantime here are a few examples from the creative model session with Amelia.  I am so happy I was able to incorporate some color theory into this photo shoot.  As we transition into the new year; my goal is to focus on color theory in order to provoke a feeling on purpose.  Take these examples of Amelia for instance.  She has amazing light blue eyes and I wanted to focus on that and bring it out in the best way.  I used complimentary colors that are opposite to draw the viewers attention.  Let me know how these colors of orange and blue make you feel.
