Model Portfolio for Instagram Post

This past weekend I worked with Kadence (IG @kadence.marie) to help her update her model portfolio for instagram post.  I noticed that she was recycling old content and photoshopping herself into scenes.  The reason for this was due to covid and the lockdowns.  Now that we are able to get vaccinated (I am fully!!! woohoo) , things are starting to go back to normal, or as they say “The NEW Norm”.  So Kadence and I were finally able to get together in studio and create professional up to date images for her model/actor portfolio.

Kadence is 17 years old and is going through teenage growing phases and she likes to change her hair style and color often.  Two things to keep in mind when you are building your model career:

  1. Keep your portfolio up to date
  2. Maintain your look and keep consistent.

If you change your look dramatically then you must update your images right away.  Think of it this way, if you submit your images  virtually as a blonde and show up on set with red hair, then the person hiring you will not be pleased.  So save everyone the headache and make sure to let them know you changed your hair color and that you are willing to change it back for the job.  However if you go from hair down to your back and cut it short to a bob cut –  well its time to get new images straight away!

My model portfolio packages include 2 hour coverage and up to 4 looks.  This is perfect number of wardrobe changes to add a variety to your book from casual, sporty, too dressy.  It all depends on the jobs you are applying for.  Its like sending your resume for a job position – Your images should reflect the job you want not the job you have no experience within.  Be true to yourself and realistic.  If you are not sure where to begin, try asking an expert for feedback.
