Yashica-D is a finely built medium format camera. Anthony DeMelas received this camera as a gift and the two of us split the cost to fix it at Webcam here in Philadelphia. Neither of us shot with this camera before so figuring out how to load the 120 film and how to hold it, focus, and change shutter speeds and f-stops was a little challenging to get use to at first.
Back in the early 90’s I use to work with a 35 mm film Pentax camera and in 2005 I switch to digital. It has been a long curiosity of mine to work with a medium format camera. Medium format digital cameras are pretty pricing… $40,000 for starts. However this guy can be purchased for under $300, so now you are talking baby!
After 11 years working with digital, I was curious how I would do reversing back to film. Here are my results for my first attempt.
This one of Anthony DeMelas is my favorite thus far!
Discovered the timer for the first time! Yeah focus is a little off on me, but not shy on focusing on Tony D
Double exposure and use of timer for selfie in the rain. Total accident but now I’m looking into doing this purposely the next round. 🙂
Can’t wait to shoot more with this Yeshica-D. 🙂
Here’s another double exposure I just adore. Happy accidence. hmmmm now to do it purposely
This tutorial I found to be very helpful.
