MODEL PORTFOLIOS

LOOKING TO BUILD YOUR BOOK?

E-COMMERCE FASHION APPAREL PHOTOGRAPHY
A model’s book is a work in progress.  The goal of a great modeling book should tell a story about who you are and the direction you are aiming your career to.   A beauty shot (fashion/ editorial models) or a clean head shot (commercial models) is the first type of photo you should be concentrating on when you do your first photo shoot.  It is essential to provide such a such, so that an agency or client can see exactly how you look without heavy makeup or styling.  A beauty shot or commercial head shot should always be the first photo in a model’s book.

The next photo should be a full-length body shot.  This shot allows the agency/client to see your proportions and body type.  Clothes should be form-fitting and simple.  I usually suggest skinny jeans and a t-shirt.   The third look should be creative and show a range of expressions.  Don’t forget the smiling shot to show off your teeth too.  It’s okay if you don’t have perfect teeth,  many supermodels are known for their imperfect teeth.   Take Tyra Banks for instance in one of the America’s Best Top Model episodes.  One of the contestants were sent to the dentist to have a small gap in her teeth made wider!  Whoa… right!

And lastly always end your book with your strongest beauty or headshot that is a different than your opening shot.  Most people only remember the first and last shot, so choose wisely.
