Cinema-graphs with Cellphone Photography

As Weegee (Arthur Fellig) put it; ” Photography is an art only so far as the imagination of the photographer master the instrument. He must not be limited by it.  He must feel, “I can do with the camera anything the artist can do with his paintbrush. If the camera as it exists prevents me, I must find ways, invest them, if necessary, to make the camera flexible – to bend the camera to my will.”

Everyone has a hero;  Weegee and Joe Chielli/ Church Street Studios,   come to my mind immediately, but I’m sure I will add to this list as my career continues.   Anyways the process of using my cellphone to create these cinema-graphs  was a bit tricky at first.   I used my iPhone 5s to create these.  Honestly would prefer a pen tool rather than my fingers for the editing process.  It’s very difficult to manage but the overall feel in the end was nearly perfect for what I was after.

I plan to use my Nikon D800 and soon D850 to create more cinema-graphs, as that is my real preferred tool of choice.  I am looking forward to sharing more with you in the years to come. Enjoy!
